Man Charged After Significant Drug Seizures In Clare And Limerick

A man’s been charged after significant drug seizures across both Clare and Limerick.

More than €700,000 worth of cocaine was seized by Gardai today following searches.

Gardai seized more than €600,000 worth of cocaine, heroin, amphetamine and diazepam tablets in searches across both counties on Friday.

The searches were conducted under Operation Coronation in conjunction with Operation Tara.

They’ve now charged one of the five individuals arrested in connection with the seizures, who’s understood to be a man in his 40s.

He’s due to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court this evening.

A follow up search in Limerick today uncovered nearly €780,000 worth of cocaine.

Two people continue to be detained at Henry Street Garda Station under section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Investigations are understood to be ongoing.
