Gardaí say the man was travelling at 100 kilometres per hour at Dulick on the Gort Road last Tuesday night, double the 50 kilometre speed limit in the area.

He then went on to overtake a separate vehicle on the median strip, on approach to Ennis town centre.

After he was stopped by Gardaí, it was discovered that he had no driving licence, and had never held one and that he was driving with no insurance.

The 20-year-old was issued a fine for speeding and overtaking on the median strip and is due to appear before the courts in relation to the incident.
