The man who established a soup kitchen in Ennis, but closed the facility after the local residents objected, says he’s ‘actively looking’ for another premises in the town.

Oliver Williams opened a Twist Soup Kitchen behind St. Flannan’s Terrace off the Clare Road two weeks ago, but closed the operation shortly afterwards after residents and Councillors deemed the site unsuitable.
He also received a letter from Ennis Town Council telling him he would face a fine or potential imprisonment if he didn’t seek planning permission or cease operations.
Mr. Williams says he is now looking for a more suitable location, insisting there is a need for a soup kitchen in Ennis.
