A man has been arrested following a high speed car chase through Clare.
It’s understood the driver of a car, who was under suspicion of drink driving, was travelling between Loughrea and Gort around 10 o’clock last night, and failed to stop when approached by Gardaí.

A chase ensued through Clare, involving one unit of Gardaí from Gort and three units from Ennis Garda Station.
The chase lasted for around 45 minutes, before the driver came to a stop in Kilnamona.
A man in his thirties was arrested at the scene and detained at Ennis Garda Station overnight.
The man is due before Ennis District Court this morning facing charges arising out of the incident.
