A man has been airlifted to hospital following an incident while surfing near the West Clare coast.
The man, who’s understood to be a lifeguard from the county, was surfing in Lough Donnell in Quilty this morning when he got into difficulty.

Emergency services were alerted and the Shannon-based Irish Coast guard Helicopter, Rescue 115 was dispatched to the scene.
Irish Coastguard Personnel administered CPR at the scene and enroute to University Hospital Limerick.
