Kilrish gardaí are investigating a serious road crash in West Clare. A young male driver was injured after his car left the road and hit a ditch near Cranny on the main Ennis to Kilrush Road at around 5.30 this morning.

He’s being rushed to Limerick Regional Hospital where his condition is described as serious.
Two units of the fire brigade from Kilrush along with ambulance personnel attended the scene.
A section of the Kilrush to Ennis road between Lissycasey and the turn off for Cranny is currently closed to traffic to allow for a technical examination of the scene.
Diversions are in place through Kildysart with gardaí on point duty in Lissycasey and Cranny
