A major programme of events will be taking place in Clare over the next fornight to mark Seachtain Na Gaeilge.
Clare currently has the second-highest proportion of Irish speakers nationwide with 47% of this county’s population speaking the language to some degree.

This year’s celebration runs from March 1st to March 16th and includes conversation circles, Gaelic Football tournaments, 5km runs and pop-up Gaeltachts.
Language Planning Officer with An Clár as Gaeilge and Irish and Cultural Officer with Clare GAA, Leah Ní Thailtigh says speakers of all levels will enjoy it.
