A 20-acre town centre site in Shannon has been acquired in what’s being described as a major investment in the long-term future of the town.
Shannon Gateway Projects says the site represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to create a more vibrant and sustainable town centre.
Shannon Gateway Projects was established by Chairman and Founder of EI Electronics Michael Guinee, who says the acquisition is about investing in the future of the town.
Grafton Architects has been appointed to lead the masterplanning process, taking account of Clare County Council’s most recent town masterplan.
No specific development proposals have yet been confirmed, but the site is seen as having the potential to support economic and social development.
The masterplan will involve engagement with local stakeholders to ensure future plans reflect the community’s priorities and aspirations.
In a statement to Clare FM, Michael Guinee says the ambition is to strengthen Shannon’s appeal as a place to live, work and raise families, while creating a lasting legacy for the community.
