A major residential housing scheme could be on the cards for a North Clare tourist hotspot.
Summit Developments is seeking permission to deliver 60 new dwellings in Lisdoonvarna.
The Corofin based company is proposing to provide 32 three-bed homes, 26 two-bed properties and just 2 four-bed units in the townlands of Rathbaun and Ballyinsheen Beg.
The developer is also promising to install sustainable drainage systems, and a new car park on the St.Brendan’s Road site.
According to Uisce Eireann , Lisdoonvarna’s Wastewater Treatment Plant has sufficient capacity to cater for additional developments.
Clare County Council is accepting public submissions until May 13th and will aim to make a decision by June 3rd.
