Major Disruption On M18 Motorway Following Three Incidents Near Shannon

There was major traffic disruption on the M18 motorway near Shannon this morning following three incidents. 

Emergency services were alerted to a car fire on the juntion 9 sliproad to Shannon Airport around half past seven and two units of Clare County Fire Service attended the scene.

Around 8 o'clock three cars collided with each other on the southbound lane of the motorway, not far from junction 9, following which a further two cars were involved in a road crash at juntion 10 shortly before 9 o'clock.

Traffic was reduced to one lane for a time but all three incidents have been cleared in the past few minutes, with traffic volumes returning to normal in the area.

There's no reports of injuries.
