The main Ballynacally to Kildysart road has been closed this lunchtime as emergency services attempt to remove a truck that has gone off the road.
The incident occured at Paradise just before 11 o'clock this morning in what's said to have been dense fog.
No one suffered any injuries in the crash however significant damage has been casued to road barriers in the area.
As a result a council road crew has been called to the scene and it is expected that the stretch of road will remain closed for a number of hours.
Gardaí are asking motorists to take extreme care on the roads as dense fog is lingering in many parts.
The Road Safety Authority, Gardaí and Clare County Council are uring driviers to slow doen and use your fog lights in affected areas.
