A West Clare Councillor says "democracy has been ruined" after he was defeated in his bid to debate the purchase of homes in Kilrush for social housing.
Cllr Ian Lynch submitted a motion calling on the Council not to proceed with the purchase of five units at Beal an Inbhir, but it was removed from the agenda following legal advice.

He tried to raise the matter anyway at last night's meeting, but his call to suspend business for a discussion was defeated.
