The man who represented ‘Lying Eyes’ Sharon Collins in her trial for hiring a hitman to kill three Ennis businessman has been appointed as a judge of the District Court.

Kilrush solicitor Eugene O’Kelly has been informed of the appointment by Justice Minister Alan Shatter, who gave him the news last evening.
He is also a former President of the Clare Law Association.
Mr. O’Kelly will receive full details of his appointment after he receives a warrant from President Michael D. Higgins, and after he is formally sworn in.
