More women in Ireland now die from cancer of the lung, than breast cancer.
The Irish Cancer Society is today launching an awareness campaign, after a 17-point-6 per cent rise in the number of new lung cancer cases in women was recorded in 2010.
The main cause of lung cancer is smoking – and experts say early detection offers the best chance of survival against the illness.
