LRC talks to try and resolve bus strike

Management and unions at Bus Eireann are meeting this afternoon to try and resolve a dispute over a five million euro cost cutting plan.

Drivers with the NBRU went on strike on Sunday and Monday, grounding 95 per cent of the Bus Eireann fleet.

The strike has been suspended for 48 hours to allow negotiations take place at the Labour Relations Commission.

But speaking on their way in Michael Faherty of the NBRU and Joe Kenny of Bus Eireann said the talks will be difficult.
