West Clare has the lowest covid vaccine uptake rate for children in the county.
New data from the Central Statistics Office reveals the local electoral areas of Ennistymon and Kilrush have the joint lowest rate of children who have completed the primary course of vaccines, at just 13% a piece.
Just 18% of five to 11-year-olds in Clare have received their primary course of vaccines.
Killaloe has the highest primary course completed rate at 21% while Ennistymon and Kilrush have the joint lowest with both local electoral areas at 13%.
Meanwhile, 21% of five to 11 year olds in Ennis and Shannon have completed the primary course.
Looking at the vaccination rate for adults, just 10% of Clare people have got their third booster, which has been available since October of last year to people aged 65 years and older, those aged 12 or older with a weak immune system and for those aged 12 to 64 with an underlying condition.
Ennistymon and Kilrush have the joint highest uptake rate of this booster with both regions at 11% while Ennis and Killaloe have the joint lowest at 8%.
Booster 4, which is available to people aged 70 years and older and those aged 12 or older with a weak immune system, has been received by just over 3% of people in this county.
In terms of the national picture, 98% of Irish employees have completed the primary course of vaccinations compared to just 47% in the 13 countries that have joined the EU since 2004.
In addition, 96% of employees have received at least one booster while this rate amongst UK employees is just 88%.
