A mid level orange wind warning has been issued for West Clare later.
Storm force winds are forecast overnight, with a warning of damaging gusts in excess of 110km/h set to hit the area.

The warning will be in place from 2am to 5am, with a yellow warning issued for the rest of the county.
Heavy rain is expected to ease toward evening with downpours turning to showers along the west coast.
