Lough Derg RNLI Issues Safety Appeal Following Reports Of Boats Running Aground

The Lough Derg RNLI is issuing a safety appeal following reports of boats running aground in recent weeks.

Five people were evacuated from a cruiser on Monday after the vessel had run on to rocks on the lake.

It was the second time in three days that the volunteer team was requested to launch, following two separate incidents on Friday of a similar nature.

Lough Derg RNLI Eleanor Hooker is hopeful there may be a drop off in such incidents as the summer ends.
