The tourism industry in West Clare has been given another boost with the news that the Loop Head lighthouse will re open the June bank Holiday weekend.

Over 17,000 people visited the historic attraction last year and it will re open for another 12 week period beginning the Whit weekend.
The announcement is a double boost for the local economy as 12 people are also set to be employed for the duration of the summer season.
Mayor of Clare Pat Hayes feels the whole of west Clare can benefit from the re-opening of the lighthouse.
