Tony O’Brien, Lord Mayor of Dublin Cllr. Caroline Conroy and ceremony host Marty Whelan at the 2022 IPB Pride of Place Awards held in the Clayton Hotel in Dublin.

The Loop Head Together Project says the communities dedication to their local area is what tipped the scales in their favour at this weekend’s Pride of Place Awards.

The community of Loop Head received two honours at the 2022 IPB Pride of Place Awards in Dublin on Saturday night, coming out as overall winner of the Coastal Community category.

The West Clare region also won the Climate Action Special Award for it’s Hemp4Soil project, which explores the potential to improve soil quality while also creating alternative sustainable income streams for farms on Loop Head.

Volunteer with Loop Head Together, Margaret Cotter, says the judges were impressed by the communities bravery in taking on innovative projects.
