McPhillips Rules Out Legal Challenge To Shannon Election Result

Shannon Fine Gael candidate Garret McPhillips has ruled out taking legal action in respect of his loss in the local elections.

The first-time candidate lost out by the tightest possible margin, and was pipped by Independent Councillor Gerry Flynn even though both of them had finished level on the same number of votes after to re-checks of the ballots.

McPhillips has told Clare FM that the party will not be taking the matter any further.
