A West Clare Fine Gael local election candidate has dismissed suggestions that proceeding with the National Broadband Plan will mean cancelling other capital projects.
Documents from the Department of Public Expenditure released yesterday reveal that it warned the government not to proceed with the €3 billion plan.
It went on to describe it as a “leap of faith that presents an unprecedented risk” to the state.
