A Clare GP, who’s the brainchild behind one the country’s few dedicated children’s bookshops, is hoping the opening of a new store in Ennis will provide a welcome boost for the town.
Genius Juniors Bookshop initially began as an idea to raise money for charity, but expanded into an online business operating out of a warehouse on the Gort Road for the last four years.
It now supplies thousands of children’s books to schools, corporate bodies and households, both nationally and internationally.
The new bricks and mortar store opens with a launch party on Abbey Street this evening, and owner, local GP Dr Christina McDonnell believes the unique venture will provide huge benefits for both the children of Clare and their parents.
