Entrepreneur Declan Ganley has lent his name to calls for United Airlines to re-consider their plan to suspend its Shannon to Newark service for the winter months.
The US carrier is scaling back services from November, citing a lack of demand.

However, business groups along the West coast say they need year-round access into key markets
Speaking on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, Declan Ganley said he believes the impending opening of the new M17 motorway extension means it doesn’t make commercial sense to close the route.
