Clare County Council is calling on the government to ensure that air passengers are not hit with extra charges for hand luggage.

Some airlines in the US have begun to charge passengers for hand luggage, and local representatives have expressed a fear that airlines here could do the same.
Local representatives want the Transport Minister to introduce a law ensuring the charges are not implemented, following a motion from Newmarket on Fergus Councillor Pat McMahon.
