Live Register Figures Lowest In Nine Years

The number of people on the Live Register is at its lowest level since October 2008.

266,600 people were claiming jobseekers allowance or benefit in April – a decrease of over 4,600 since March.

The latest figures from the CSO show that there continues to be 40,000 more males than females on the register.

Here in the MidWest, there has been another fall last month and the amount of people on the live register in Clare, Limerick and Tipperary has dropped by 3,300 in the past year.
