LIT President Calls For Urgent Third Level Funding

The President of Limerick Institute of Technology has sounded a stark warning about the future funding of third level education.

Vincent Cunnane was speaking in light of a report from the Higher Education Authority shows that almost half of Ireland's 14 I.T.'s are having money problems.

Limerick is not one of those, but Mr. Cunnane warns it will encounter difficulties in the coming years if a shortfall in funding is not addressed.

He believes the sector needs extra funding from government as a matter of urgency
