Some of Lissycasey GAA Club’s most esteemed club and community members will be honoured at a special ceremony next weekend.
Ahead of the first anniversary of his death, the club’s pitch will be officially named in the memory of late Councillor PJ Kelly at the event on Sunday, July 13th from 3pm, while the stand at Páirc na Muintire will be named in hour of the late Gearóid O’Sullivan.
The legacy of the late Brian Casey, David McMahon and Michael Melican, who were all members of the 2007 Clare Senior Football Championship-winning team will also be honoured, with the unveiling of a memorial plaque dedicated to their memory.
Lissycasey clubman, Paudie Carmody says the parish has had some tough and dark days and it’s important to bring the community together to look back in fondness on those no longer with them.
