Lisdoonvarna businesses insist the town is still open and ready to trade.
It’s after confirmation that the North Clare town’s world-renowned Matchmaking Festival will not go ahead for a second year in a row due to ongoing public health restrictions.

Festival organisers say it’s the ‘prerogative’ of other local businesses to decide whether or not they want to run smaller events associated with the festival in September – and it’s anticipated many will do so.
Peter Curtin of the Roadside Tavern Mini Brewery in Lisdoonvarna says there will be ways to enjoy the celebrations outside of traditional methods.
