The Government says it won’t begin the process of moving University Maternity Hospital Limerick to the UHL campus until after the National Maternity Hospital has been moved to the grounds of St Vincent’s in Dublin.
It comes seven years after the two moves were announced as part of the Project Ireland 2040 policy.

Speaking in the Seanad, Ennistymon Senator Martin Conway has asked the Government to provide funding for the colocation of the Midwest facilities as a matter of urgency.
Responding to Senator Conway, Minister of State Alan Dillon says the people of this region will have to wait a while longer.
