Limerick And Galway Hospitals Record More Than Double The Trolley Numbers Of Ten Eastern Facilities

Nurses say hospitals in Clare’s bordering counties have witnessed more than double the numbers on trolleys than all ten eastern hospitals combined today.

The latest trolleywatch analysis shows there were 97 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 39 of those on trolleys or chairs in the Emergency Department.

Galway University Hospital, meanwhile, was the second busiest hospital in the country during morning rounds, with 64 admitted patients on trolleys.

This compares to 55 across all ten hospitals in the East of the country combined.

Overall, there were 424 admitted patients waiting for beds at Irish hospitals today.
