Limerick And Galway EDs The Busiest In The Country Once Again

The two hospitals in Clare’s bordering counties remain the busiest in the country once again today.

The latest figure from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there were 87 patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 33 of those in the emergency department.

At Galway University Hospital there were 61 patients on trolleys during morning rounds, according to the figures.

It comes on a week when HSE Mid West has warned that high attendances are likely to persist into next week, with health officials advising patients to consider alternative health options, before attending the ED at UHL.
