A Clare forrester insists that licencing and regulation is strangling the sector.
It comes amid concern that as many as 12 thousand jobs could be lost across the country, due to a backlog in granting afforestation and fellig licencces.
Around 16% of this county is under forrestry, which its estimated is provding an income for around 30% of Clare farmers.
