Levels of uncollected rates in Ennis have doubled in the past year, and now stand at over 2.4 million euro.

Figures released by Ennis Town Council show that as of recent days, a third of the total amount owed for last year have not been paid, and that the amount outstanding is twice that the figure of a year previously.
A further half a million euro has been written off as irrecoverable
Town manager Ger Dollard says where possible, local businesses need to pay their way in order to protect vital services.
