The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows 35 people are waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick, 19 of those in the Emergency Department.
It's in stark contrast to figures seen earlier this week, when 66 patients were left waiting on trolleys for a number of hours on Tuesday.
But today's figures show Galway University Hospital has become the most overcrowded in the country, where 38 people are waiting to be admitted.
