Level Of Overcrowding At UHL Highest In Country For Second Day

Nurses say the region's main hospital remains the most overcrowded in the country for a second day running.

There were 23 people waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, according to the latest figures from the INMO, while a further 8 are being accomodated in overflow areas of wards.

The figure has dropped significantly since yesterday though remains higher than any other facility, with Cork University Hospital following closely behind in terms of the overall number of people waiting for beds.

It comes on a day when there's 272 people waiting for beds at hospitals around the country.
