Additional accomodation for the homeless could be provided in Ennis as part of a new agreement between the council and St. Vincent de Paul.

A Lease on the Laurel Lodge facility on the Clare Road in Ennis is to be extended to 99 years to allow the charity to seek finance for the provision of three additonal units of accomodation there.
Local Councillors have approved the changes on the basis that the property continues to be used to accomodate homeless people.
St. Vincent dePaul has catered for the needs of homeless men at the 13 bed Laurel Lodge Facility since 2009 in co-operation with the Housing Executive of Clare County Council.
