Less than 1% of Clare’s housing adaptation grant allocation went unspent last year.
Over €3.15m was claimed through the Mobility Aid, Housing Aid for Older People and Housing Adaption for Disabled People grants.
€3,152,392 was drawn down in Clare across the three funding streams last year.
This represents 99.5% of the county’s total allocation of €3.166m, with €2,69m of this provided through the exchequer.
The most money paid out under one scheme was the Housing Aid for Older People Grant with €1,347,651 paid out to 323 applicants.
€1,287,658 was drawn down under the Housing Adaption for Disabled People Grant with 178 payments made under this scheme.
Meanwhile 106 payments were made under the Mobility Aid Grant to the tune of €516,083.
Clare County Council noted towards the end of last year that further approvals may be delayed until this year, with Clare’s total allocation increased to over €4m
