A legendary figure in the Irish traditional music world has passed away following a long illness.
Ennis born, Tony McMahon, was a well known accordion player, radio and television broadcaster.

He released several recordings through the years and was a huge inspiration to musicians and music lovers around the world.
President Michael D Higgins has paid tribute to Tony saying he was “one of Ireland’s iconic presences among musicians”.
