Leahy appointed to An Bord Pleanala

 

A prominent Clare architect is one of four new appointees to An Bord Pleanala by the Environment Minister

Michael Leahy, who’s based in Ennis joins the planning appeals board along with a former An Bord Pleanala inspector, an archaeologist and town planner along with an environmental engineer.

Each of them were nominated from among the panels representing professional bodies involved in planning commerce and disability – which was set up to ensure " an arms length process of choosing board members.

In recent months, Mr Leahy has been actively involved with local businesses in a campaign of opposition to a proposed retail developments on the outskirts of Clare’s County Town.
