Gardaí are investigating the theft of a large sum of money from a house in the Shannon area.
The incident, in Ballycaseymore, occurred last Friday afternoon between 2:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

On the same day, between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., a house was broken into at Ballinacragga Heights in nearby Newmarket-on-Fergus, although nothing was taken on this occasion.
Gardaí say a black Volkswagen Golf car was seen acting suspiciously in the areas of both incidents at the time of the break-ins, and they are appealing for anyone who can assist in their investigation to come forward.
