A large crowd is expected in Kilrush this Friday night for a public meeting on the future of Shannondoc in the area.

Kilrush, along with Ennistymon and Killaloe, is set to see a scaling back in the local out-of-hours GP service in a move that led to outrage when it was announced last month.
Shannondoc said they had to make the changes due to a falling number of doctors, but organisers of this week's meeting fear a significant knock-on impact throughout the health sector.
Kilrush Councillor Ian Lynch says people are beginning to realise the impact of the cuts.
