The group says between the 19th and 25th of April it received reports of 19 seperate wildfires across Ireland, including two on the Slieve Aughty Mountains.

It follows a major blaze spanning 100 acres of land north of Lissycasey last weekend.

Padraic Fogarty from the IWT says such fires have a devastating impact on wildlife as well posing severe danager to people and property and it's time for authorities to get tough.
