It’s claimed Lahinch won’t regain its Blue Flag status without a public consultation on the Cregg-Calluragh wastewater treatment plant being carried out.
Government has been called on to instruct Uisce Eireann to launch the consultation on the proposal.

Locals have expressed concern that the estimated 9,300 max capacity of the plant is far below peak figures.
Speaking in the Seanad, Ennistymon Senator Martin Conway says it’s positive that the project is being progressed, but that it needs to be done properly.
