A Lahinch mother whose daughter previously had a life-threatening encounter with E. coli is calling for measures to prevent future pollution in local waterways.
In August 2018, Lexi Keating’s two-year-old daughter developed acute kidney failure and had to undergo life-saving dialysis after swimming during a prior warning notice, following a day of heavy rainfall.

Over the past three months Lexi has been carrying real-time testing of bacteria levels at Lahinch and Spanish Point as part of the Surfrider Foundation.
She believes there’s only one clear solution to the problem.
