Lahinch Man Killed In Ethiopia Plane Crash

It’s been confirmed that the Irishman who died on board an Ethiopian Airlines plane which crashed this morning is from the Lahinch area.
Michael, known as Mick, Ryan was one of the 157 people on board the Boeing 737 aircraft which was en route from Addis Ababa to Nairobi.
It broke contact with air traffic control just six minutes after taking off.
Mr. Ryan, who had been living in Cork, was a married father of two young children and that he was working as an Engineer with the United Nations World Food Programme.
The Department of Foreign Affairs is aware of the incident, and is providing consular assistance.
