Lahinch GP Concerned Over Delayed Rehab For Brain Injury Sufferers

A West Clare GP fears delayed rehab for people who suffer serious brain injuries is having an enormous impact on their quality of life.

The Dáil has heard over 25,000 Irish people each year struggle to access neurorehabilitation to prevent disability and support recovery from conditions including stroke, acquired brain injury and Parkinson’s disease.

Lahinch-based Dr Michael Kelleher says as things stand, it’s a difficult situation for people who suffer catastrophic injuries.
