Traders in the town are vehemently opposed to the plan, which could see changes made to the Ennis & Environs Development Plan in order to allow a planning application for a large scale retail centre to go ahead.
While admitting that it is a decision solely for Ennis Town Council, the Labour representative fears the consequences if the plan gets the green light.
