Labour Divided on Fatal Foetal Abnormalities Bill

Clare's Labour TD says there are divided opinions in the party on the legalites surrounding legislating for fatal foetal abnormalities. 

Michael McNamara says he expects tomorrows parliamentary party meeting to have a frank dicussion on whether or not they should support a bill which is making its way through the Dáil.

Fianna Fáil is to have a free vote, while Sinn Féin is to abstain and Fine Gael is to vote no, on the bill from Clare Daly, who is urging the Government to allow abortion in cases of fatal foetal abnormalities, as long as two doctors approve. 

The Tánaiste has ruled out a free vote in Labour but Deputy McNamara says the party is united in wanting to legislate on the issue.
