A volunteer with Kilrush RNLI who passed away in recent days is being remembered as a man of huge wisdom and a skilled engineer.
Fintan Keating of Cappa was one of Kilrush Lifeboat Station’s original volunteers when it was first established in 1994 and recently received a Certificate of Service as an acknowledgement of his immense contribution over a 30-year period.
Fintan will repose in St. Senan’s Church in Kilrush on Wednesday from 5pm with prayers at 7pm, and his funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 11am followed by burial in New Shanakyle cemetery.
Former Kilrush Lifeboat Operations Manager Pauline Dunleavy says if Fintan couldn’t do it, it couldn’t be done.
